Tara McPherson

Recently bought " Lonely Heart the art of Tara McPherson". Her work is really beautiful, I love the way she draws. The book is actually a really good way of looking at this as it includes clear pages which show the transition from sketch, graphite drawing and screen print. I think the graphite pencil is what makes the pieces, the lines are sharp and clear yet they have texture. I first saw her real silk screen printed work in The Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester, which is an amazing little shop/gallery full of toys and original screen printed band posters. It's near Afflecks Palace in the Northern Quarter, so anyone in Manchester should go.
